This 7,000 square foot custom home features a first floor owner’s suite, catering kitchen, outdoor kitchen with fireplace, billiard room, lower level bar and game room, and spa with massage room and gym. One of the owner’s criterion was to maximize the natural light, especially in the mornings and in the kitchen. Since the rear of this house faced north, this posed architectural challenge. This was overcome by utilizing a 17 foot vaulted ceiling with dormers to bring light deep into kitchen and a two story south facing bay window in the living room.

This 6,000 square foot home is the owners’ spring, summer, and fall residence, with a winter home in Florida. This home was designed to live the same way as their home in Florida, with the exact same owner’s suite, closets and baths. Additionally, this home was built as a space to entertain with 12 foot ceilings throughout the first floor and the great room and living rooms have 10 foot high glass sliding pocket doors to open the house up to a covered terrace with fire place and landscaped backyard.

This project is comprised of three model single family homes ranging from 2,400 to 3,000 square feet, most with side-load garages. The exterior elevations were inspired by turn of the century homes.

Bigger than most single family homes in their price ranges, the dramatic open floor plan is filled with light from the extra-large windows especially the breathtaking rear wall. The entry to these homes from the garage features fewer stairs to the main level than a traditional townhome and this combined with an option for a first floor bedroom suite allows this home to appeal to not only sophisticated younger buyers but also to the mature buyer who usually shies away from townhomes.
